SCOTMED Gets Together with NFM Practitioners

The School of Complementary and Traditional Medicine (Scotmed) had a get-together on December 5, among its students and practitioners of nutritional & functional medicine for the students to get a better idea of the opportunities and challenges in the field.

Some 22 participants hiked along the Semenyih riverbanks before having a healthy lunch at one of the practitioner’s farm house.

Scotmed’s Dean, Dato Sri Steve Yap said it was a good opportunity for both students and practitioners to mingle in an informal setting.

“Students were also able to raise their concerns, if any, to practitioners and Scotmed’s key personnel while at the same time, practitioners were about to scout talented students,” he said.

The Dean said more of these gatherings will be organised in future as they are an important source of sharing industry knowledge as well as a means to guide students to their chosen paths in nutritional medicine.
