May 21, 2022: Candidates studying nutritional and functional medicine and some of the other modalities within T&CM requiring clinical experience, will now be able to embark on their clinical exposure with guided training at the newly launched DSY Medical Wellness Centre, located conveniently on the ground floor of the School of Complementary & Traditional Medicine (SCOTMED).
“The launch of DSY Medical Wellness is an opportunity for students to gain exposure to clinical skills relevant to their practice modalities under close supervision by their senior practitioners,” said Prof Dato’ Sri Steve Yap, principal advisor to DSY Medical Wellness and head of SCOTMED.
“Students can bring in their own patients/clients and/or family members and use these cases as part of their clinical training while newly qualified practitioners are welcome to use these facilities since it’s very costly to renovate and maintain rented office premises for use in their clinical practice.”
He added, “The Centre is also equipped with state-of-the-art non-invasive bio-resonance or energy equipment commonly used in the developed countries for patients’ pre-diagnosis and in complementary therapies.”
SCOTMED looks forward to more newly qualified practitioners and would-be practitioners using the Medical Wellness Centre to enhance their clinical experience.
